He received his Juris Doctorate in 1989 from the University of Southern California Law Center, where he was a scholarship recipient and moot court finalist. He is a member of the California and Los Angeles Bar Associations, is an Arbitrator for the Los Angeles Superior Court, and has been a lecturer for Lorman Educational Services.
